Feeding matters
Feeding Matters is an organization that unites families, advocates, and allied healthcare professionals with the goal to “improve the system of care for pediatric feeding disorder through advocacy, education, support, and research.” Their website is a wealth of knowledge and supports, including peer-to-peer support, a comprehensive family guide to understanding and initiating services for PFD, financial assistance for families in need, and more. You can find their website here.
SOS Approach to feeding
The SOS (sequential-oral-sensory) Approach to Feeding, created by psychologist Kay Toomey, is built upon the idea of using play with a purpose to help children with feeding challenges move up the “steps to eating.” Their website, found here, offers a wide variety of information and supports for families. They also offer a free, 2-hour parent support workshop, found here.
Feeding littles
The team at Feeding Littles is made up of Megan McNamee, a nutritionist, and Judy Delaware, a pediatric OT and feeding specialist. They offer online courses for parents to help support picky eaters (one for infants, 6 months+, and one for toddlers and kids, 1-10 years), 2 cookbooks with family friendly ideas, and a blog that is a wealth of information! Find their website here and their informative and fun Instagram account here.
Your kid’s table
This is a blog started by Alisha Grogan, OTR/L, and run by a team of pediatric occupational therapists focused on education for parents specifically surrounding picky eating, sensory processing, and the tricky space where these two overlap! You can find their website here and their free workshops here.
